Chinese pianist Lang Lang today appeared on CNN's first Chinese online chat with host Eileen Hsieh. He talks about his collaboration with music legend Herbie Hancock, his opinion on the best way to learn classical music and Michael Jackson's influence on him. He also answered questions posted online by his fans from around the world.
Tune in this evening to see Lang Lang on the "Tavis Smiley" show. Lang Lang's interview with Tavis will air on KCET in Los Angeles at both 7pm and 11pm and on WNET in New York at 12 midnight (with a re-broadcast on Tuesday at 1 PM). SCHILLER GIVES PLATINUM AWARD TO LANG LANG

Following a trio performance at the Russian Embassy, Christopher von Deylen - better know as Schiller - presented Lang Lang with the plaque for their platinum-selling album, Sehnsucht ("Longing"). Their collaboration "Time for Dreams" was chosen by German TV station ZDF as the official anthem for their coverage of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
The BC Entertainment Hall of Fame honors international entertainment personalities who have captured the hearts of Vancouverites through frequent visits to the city. Their plaques are installed on the exterior of the Orpheum near the Stage Door at 865 Seymour Street in Vancouver.
Pianist Lang Lang talks about his career as a musical prodigy. On November 10 at Carnegie Hall he’ll be performing the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto #2, along with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, as part of the series "Ancient Paths, Modern Voices: A Festival Celebrating Chinese Culture," a tribute to China’s culture and its influence around the world.
