Chinese pianist Lang Lang appointed chairman of the Montblanc Cultural Foundation
Montblanc is proud to announce that the world-famous pianist Lang Lang has been selected as the new ambassador of the brand of culture; the Chinese classical music star, who was recently voted the “hottest artist on the planet” by the New York Times, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Montblanc Cultural Foundation.

As it is my dream to win over more people, also young people, to classical music, I am especially happy to have the opportunities offered by this cooperation with Montblanc", says Lang Lang, who wishes to pass on to others his enjoyment of music. That is why he gives master classes to musically minded children and is active all over the world as a UNICEF ambassador. His passionate talent and his personality make him a “cross-border” transmitter of cultural values – values which the Montblanc brand has long stood for. As new Brand Ambassador, Lang Lang will now undertake together with Montblanc a series of cultural commitments and be a promoter of Montblanc products.

As a sign of the tremendous respect and esteem Montblanc has for this incredibly talented pianist and his social commitment, Lang Lang has been appointed as the chairman of the Montblanc Cultural Foundation, which was founded in 1992. “I am deeply impressed by Montblanc’s sincere and exceptionally strong global commitment to culture. It has always been my dream to spark an interest in classical music in even more people, and particularly more young people, and so I am delighted at the opportunities this collaboration with Montblanc presents,” said Lang Lang.
The Montblanc Cultural Foundation is active in 11 countries in Europe, America and Asia. Since 1992 the foundation supports and honours contemporary patrons of the arts who employ their time, enthusiasm and money to foster up-and-coming artists and their projects. The Foundation presents the annual “Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award” in 11 countries. An international jury, comprising 30 high-carat jurors, nominates and selects the annual winners of this prestigious international cultural award. Jury members in previous years have included such outstanding personalities as Karl Lagerfeld, Ethan Hawke, Robert Wilson, Catherine Deneuve and Caroline Herrera.
